What is the difference between Microblading and Nano Brows?Nano Brows is the next generation of Microblading. The technique of Nano Brows uses a tattoo machine to inject the pigment into the skin, because the Nano technique does not cut the skin. It is less invasive and is a less traumatic technique for the skin in comparison to the Microblading technique. Microblading is cutting of the skin in order to implant pigment into the skin and in some cases, Microblading can cause scarring of the skin over time. Microblading uses a razor like tool to cut and to push the pigment in the skin. Nano Brows is a uses a tattoo device and a single needle to inject pigment into the skin. Both techniques are considered a permanent makeup procedures and provides the look of realistic hair strokes in the skin.

How often do I need touch-ups?How touch-ups work: We typically recommend a more conservative eyebrow shape and color for your very first appointment. After your first Nano/Ombre/Combo Brow appointment, you’ll be pre-booked for a two month follow up appointment. The purpose of a follow up appointment is to make any adjustments to the shape or color based on the healed results. This follow up appointment is optional. Annual touchups are recommended to maintain the shape and color of the tattooed eyebrows. The life span of the eyebrow tattoo: Nano/Ombre Brows – Typically lasts around one year Combo Brows – Can last up to two years The client's skin type, age and lifestyle does play an important role on how quickly they fade. Example: A tattoo on oily skin with larger pores will typically last about one year whereas dry skin with little to no pores the tattoo will last up to two years.

What is the After Care? After the appointment any redness or irritation will subside in the next 24 hours. During the first week of healing, the New Nano Brows will look dark and intense. It is important to remember that the first week of the NEW Nano, Ombre or Combo Brows is not the true results. Typical healing time is about two weeks. Things to avoid while healing: Tanning, Swimming, Saunas, Hot tubs, Gym or any activity that may cause cause you to excessively sweat for two weeks. Facials, chemical peels, rentinols, vitamin e oils or any products that may promote the skin to peel more rapidly for two weeks. Avoid wetting the new Nano/Ombre/Combo Brows for at least 3 days. Does it hurt? The pain is comparable to threading but numbing is used to help ease the pain. If you are nervous about pain please consider going to your pharmacy and purchasing Emla Topical Numbing Cream. Apply to eyebrow area generously and do not rub into the skin. Do I need to book a consultation before booking an actual appointment? All new client appointments are scheduled for three and a half hours. In this time frame our artists will provide the consultation, shaping and the tattooing all in one appointment. For the consultation portion, I take careful consideration of each client's eye shape, bone structure and personal preference. Before proceeding to the tattoo portion of the appointment, I carefully measure and outline a shape that is the most flattering for the clients features. I will suggest a shape is the best suited for the client and once the client approves the shape I will proceed to the tattooing process. However, if you prefer to book a consultation prior to committing to an actual appointment, I do charge a $50 consult fee that gets put towards the price of whatever service you decide on. If you live outside of Calgary I do also offer online video consultations.
